Come to Denmark then. As the long-lasting monarchy we are such things are completely acceptable.
The newest born member of the royal family was named Henrik Carl Joachim Alain, Prince of Denmark, Count of Monpezat. _________________ "Truth isn't determined by majority vote"

Hi and greetings from my skiing-holidays (in which I finally found some time to log in... ) !
I am Marcel, currently 32 years old and part-time father of two great boys, spending my days with quite a lot of different topics as I am partner in a private equity company in Berlin/Germany. I've been playing D&D for about 15 years, starting at eight and played nearly every campaign setting (Ravenloft and Birthright being my favourites), including Al-Quadim and Spelljammer...
When my group dissolved, I never had the time (or motivation) to find a new one and have been reading novels every year or so and the DRAGON magazine - and been disappointed by some grave changes in the campaign worlds and in what is published (e.g. "Spellplague", all the changes in Dragonlance, stopping Birthright).
Well, and now I'm here, trying to make a start again. _________________ Entier Gladanil

I doubt that she'll be playing D&D 10th ed, since it seems like each generation of D&D lasts 8-11 years (after the kiddie years) and since we've almost just started 4th edition (2008), I'd think she'd play 5th or perhaps a just released 6th edition. 10th edition will not be until we're all sitting in the nursing home playing our venerable 3rd edition, yelling at the young whippersnappers and the computer strategy game that they call D&D 10th edition.
Though I think it could be awesome if one day we had an actual RPG in virtual reality. It would be a lot like live-action RPG, but with a better athmosphere and with the ability to modify an avatar, you'd have the opportunity to play any character you want, not just the Nosferatu bag lady. |
Heh. Actually, for those that are interested, check out developments in Alternate Reality Games (ARGs). Live Action with a twist.
Then add in some more live action as well as online gaming. The future is coming...
And I trump your Nos bag lady with a Gangrel hobo. _________________ We always cut out the middleman. And for large orders, don't worry - we'll make sure to ... undercut... the competition.

The amusing part about that is that I have successfully made that the most enduring - and endearing - villain in the game I run right now.

I was saddened at the breakfast table as I inquired with my son as to what class he would define himself as for D&D.
Being less than 2 years old, he has some difficulty with words, but likes to repeat things back to me.
So... I was saying:
"Erik, are you a fighter? Say "I am a fighter"."
but no response.
Ditto for wizard, cleric... even thief. Growing desperate, I asked if he was a barbarian, or a ranger.
Then, Kara piped up, before I could stop her:
"Erik, are you a bard? Say, I am a bard!"
.... and he responded
"I'm a bawd!!" (sic) "Bawd!" "I'm a bawd!"
... and so my son is doomed to forever be ridiculed in gaming circles everywhere as he grows up. I can see the gaming groups now, when they talk about him. All the jokes, and the refusals to let play.
But I'll support him. I may not approve of his lifestyle, but I'll still be a proud papa and will grow to accept it. I will tell him to be the person he was born to be, let the dice be damned.

it could be worse Dave,
He could have announced he wanted to be a "pawadwin."
Maybe your wee lass to come will be a fighter? _________________ "The trouble ain't that there is too many fools, but that the lightning ain't distributed right." Samuel Clemens

Hey all, My names Les, though all my friends call me Billy (Long Story). I'm 26 years old. Currently live in Northern Kentucky in the United States. Started playing D&D way back in my teen years. Probably one of the few Birthright Players that have never played a table top game of Birthright, got hooked on the game when I played the PC Version.....
Then one day I ran across Lebr I while still in High School. Where I led Roesone into complete and utter destruction. And now some 10 or so years latter I've been through lebr 1, 2 and 5 as well as ITSOD2. Currently playing in Empire's Twilight and now I can add Anarchy in Anurie to it.
Plus I work for an Internet based marketing company so I spend about 90% of my waking day online so am easily reached
