Arriving late for the day's session the Imperial Chamberlain begins by calling the Senate to order and making the following announcement.

"I have found it most gratifying over the past few months to see our once mighty empire expanding once more. First Baerghos, then Albiele and now thanks to duchy of Aerenwe, who we must recall has only recently rejoined us, Caelcorwynn.
As with Albiele I have formally accepted Aerenwe's petition on behalf of her Grace's loyal subject Siele Ghoried to recognise Caelcorwynn as a colony of the Empire."

"Interesting." Raising an eyebrow, Tremain strokes his beard.

"An unexpected move for certain, but I could easily see the wisdom in it. Well, good things come in pairs it seems. Two new colonies in one season - Avanil... congratulates Aerenwe on it's success, and congratulates the new Governor of Caelcorwynn."

Not wishing to stand and speak before the Duchies of the Empire, Imoen applauds and inclines her head in a cngratulatory fashion towards the Aerenwean Ambassador. At the mention of Siele Ghorieds' name, she visibly winces, and a deep frown momentarily graces her face. However, it is quickly gone and she awaits her turn patiently, not offering her lands congratulations before the ancient seats of Empire have all offered their own in turn.

A look of surprise passes of Sister Keira's normally serene features at this announcement and she takes up parchment and quill, making notes in a quick hand, her brow now marred with a frown.

After a few moments of what might appear like hard thinking, Landen sigh and walks over to where the representative from the Spider River Traders are seated.

He leads forward and whispers,
"I think we should have a talk after todays session. I think perhaps His Excellecy might wish for the Lady Ghoried to become the Governess of the island. We should talk, then formulate how we're to present this to our respective patrons?"

The Imperial Chamberlain watches the reaction of the representative for Aerenwe and the subsequent exchange with the Spider River Traders representative with a quizzical expression.

Crispin looks fairly suprised as well, but nods to the ambassador from Aerenwe and answers

If it suits you, we can meet after the senate has closed.

Davien also seems to be a little shocked by the statement of Aerenwe's actions and decides, again, not to say anything. He does, however, write a message to Lord Tremain and has it passed to him by a messenger.

Tremain reads the note with an impassive face, then nods slightly and pens a reply which is send back.

Hearing the Chamberlain's announcement, Vaesil frowns and shakes his head, then slowly raises his hand and rubs his temples.

"What kind of colony is it? A penal colony? Religious sanctuary? I assume that the Sisters will be building a lighthouse there."

"Perhaps the Celestial Spell will be invited to open a small church."

The Chamberlain, smiling as though it had been he who had personally bought Caelcorwynn into the Imperial fold nods at the Medoerean senators questions and turns expectantly toward Landen.

Seeing the written note that was sent back from Lord Tremain, Davien returns the message with one of his own before he smiles at the thought.

Landen nods with respect towards the Chamberlain before answering the questions.

"Caelcorwynn is and will remain a fairly normal colony. Both is two halves got settlements now, and its to be used for such things as a harbour to facilitate restocking of fresh water for the patrols looking for pirates and the like."

"A lighthouse was mentioned, and in the long term plans, such a thing is indeed discussed. But thats so far ahead yet that its only on the discussion board. When it becomes more then that, we shall sit down with our friends who represent the Lady of the Sea, some engineers and then see to the practical parts of it."

"As for religion. Aerenwe has always had religious freedom, and Caelcorwynn will too. But as to the practical things when it comes to religion, our esteemed friends from Medoere should talk to the Senator of the UTN. After all its they who guide Aerenwe in all things when it comes to religion. And when all things said and done, they will have our support on their work on Caelcorwynn as in Aerenwe."
